Head of Junior School

In Junior School Chapel over the last few weeks we have been checking out who God is. One of the descriptions was ‘God is…generous’. Generosity is something we all appreciate, especially when we are on the receiving end! It does not matter whether we have little or much, a generous approach to life and others makes a difference and reflects something of who God is.

One way we promote service and generosity at the College is to get involved in charities, fundraisers and advocacy opportunities. For several years we have been part of the Fathering Project, an Aussie group to promote fathers and father figures as a vital part of children’s and young people’s positive growth and development https://thefatheringproject.org/ . This year the Fathering Project is holding a bike ride called the Big Push from Picton to Canberra. One of the College parents, Greg Barnier (Josh Year 6) is riding and we are supporting him with some fundraising events this term. Keep an eye out for details. Our student leaders are working on a number of very creative ideas to raise some funds.

There are many resources in our library for mums, dads and anyone who cares for kids. These can be accessed through https://tinyurl.com/y6wor6un then reading lists/parent library.
