Week 6
Round 6 of the 2025 Santa Sabina Invitational Volleyball Competition was a pivotal weekend for our Pymble teams, with most matches serving as crucial semi-finals to determine places in next Saturday’s grand finals. Our players rose to the occasion, displaying outstanding determination, skill and sportsmanship with every point.
Pymble 1 competed in a high-stakes semi-final against Santa Sabina 2. Despite their effort and commitment, the team fell to a 2 to 0 loss and narrowly missed the opportunity to progress to the grand final. The girls played with spirit throughout and should be commended for the resilience they’ve shown all season.
Our Senior Seconds, Pymble 2, delivered a commanding performance in their semi-final against Meriden 2. Securing a 3 to 0 victory, the team played with focus and energy from start to finish, booking their well-deserved place in next week’s grand final.
Pymble 3 found themselves in a tough matchup with Rosebank College 4 for their semi-final. Despite their commitment and hard work, the side went down 0 to 2. The girls never gave up and gained valuable experience that will serve them well in future competitions.
Pymble 4 were the exception this round, not contesting a semi-final. However, they took to the court against St. Andrew’s 3 and came away with a convincing 2 to 0 win. This result caps off a strong end to the season, with the team showcasing the progress they’ve made throughout the term.
Pymble 5, our Year 8 Division 1 team, truly rose to the occasion in their semi-final against Santa Sabina 6. With a dominant 3 to 0 win, the girls secured their spot in the grand final, building on the momentum they’ve generated all season.
Pymble 6 played Abbotsleigh 10 in their semi-final and, despite a determined showing, went down 0 to 2. The team showed tremendous perseverance and can hold their heads high after a solid campaign.
Our Year 7s, Pymble 7, rounded off the day with an excellent semi-final victory over Loreto Kirribilli 5, winning 3 to 0. The squad’s teamwork and self-belief have been evident throughout the season, and their performance under semi-final pressure was superb.
Congratulations to all our teams—especially those advancing to the grand final! A special thanks as always to our dedicated coaches and loyal supporters. We look forward to an exciting grand final weekend ahead!
