Volleyball Week 4

Round 4 of the Santa Sabina Invitational Volleyball Competition took place this past Saturday. The weather conditions were much more favourable this weekend. We had a fantastic set of results, with all our teams coming away with a win. A special shoutout to Pymble 2 who had to come from 0 to 1 down to win 2 to 1. Pymble 1, Pymble 3, Pymble 5, and Pymble 6 have continued their strong start to the season and remain undefeated.

Senior Firsts report from our Volleyball Captain, Chloe Gu (Year 11)

Despite having two players down, Pymble 1 displayed strong determination in their week four match against Danebank in the Santa Sabina competition, closing off the game with another 3 to 0 win.

Compared to the game against Monte, everyone adjusted well to the sun and external changes; we even had a pigeon join the court. We all played to our abilities, aiming to keep points lost at a minimum. There were highlights for everyone, like Lucy Cheong’s (Year 10) spikes, Ruthia Moore’s (Current Year 11, 2025 Year 12) amazing foot saves, and Vicky Hu (Current Year 11, 2025 Year 12) with her 12 serves in a row.

Next week’s game will be a tough one. To secure a win, we will need to work on our communication and consistency. There were a few points lost this week that were purely our mistakes, and these mistakes should be minimised. However, we believe that as long as we are having fun and keeping a positive mindset, there will be no regrets.
