State Short Course Championships

The swimmers from the Pymble contingent of Knox Pymble Swim Club (KPSC) delivered an excellent performance at the 2025 State Short Course Championships, helping KPSC secure first place on the overall point score!

While the medal count tells part of the story, it doesn’t capture the effort, progress, resilience, and teamwork displayed by our athletes. They stood behind the blocks with courage, gave their all for the team, and wore their club cap with pride.

To add some extra fun, we split our swimmers into two teams – the Freddo’s and the Caramello’s – for a “roll the dice” challenge. Each time a swimmer achieved a personal best, won a medal, showed courage with a standout swim, or broke a record, they rolled the dice to score points for their team. This created plenty of laughs, motivation, and entertainment for swimmers and coaches alike. At present, the Caramello’s hold the lead, but with Youth State still to come, the final result is anyone’s game.

We also extend our gratitude to the parents for their support from the stands, to KPSC for their ongoing partnership, and to Pymble Ladies’ College for providing world-class coaching and facilities. A special thanks to Leanne, Rafa, Jarrod, and Steven for their coaching and energy across the weekend.

Most importantly, we are proud of the camaraderie, growth, and enjoyment shared by our swimmers. Swimming teaches resilience through both the highs and lows—lessons that serve our athletes well both in and out of the pool.

Pymble vs Knox Meet

On Friday 22 August, 25 of our competitive Pymble swimmers took part in our very first Pymble vs Knox swim meet, held at Pymble.

The afternoon saw our youngest swimmers from Years 2 to 7 racing against Knox in an exciting program of events under a point-score system. It was also a valuable opportunity for our junior team to begin preparing for IPSHA in 2026.

The competition was extremely close, with Knox eventually taking the win by only 30 points after many exciting individual events and relays. Our Pymble girls showed great spirit and resilience, often stepping into different teams to support each other, allowing teammates to rest while still gaining points for Pymble.

It was wonderful to see the strong team spirit on display, with our girls cheering loudly, helping one another, and showing genuine care throughout the afternoon.

A special congratulations to our Pymble superstars for their outstanding efforts,

Hongor Temuqile (Year 2), Ruby Shi (Year 3), Melania Kekatos (Year 3), Amalia (Year 3), Aini Liu (Year 3), Tabita De Bilde (Year 4), Xenia Yu (Year 4), Amelie Dao (Year4), Cathy Chen (Year 4), Vera Le (Year 4), Alicia Gong (Year 4), Chloe Pan (Year 4), Tiffany Woods (Year 4), Sarah Kitzing (Year 4), Mia Bai (Year 5), Kathy Lun (Year 5), Cheryl Zhou (Year 5), Charlotte Yim (Year 5), Annette Ng (Year 5), Olivia Vlainic (Year 5), Natasha Woods (Year 5), Emma Feng (Year 6), Genevieve Wong (Year 6), Isabella Wong (Year 6), Eleanor Zalewski (Year 7).

A heartfelt thank you to Oriana Fenton (Year 8) and Rose Harrington (Year 7) for coming along to support the team. Both girls displayed excellent leadership and care for our junior squad.

We also extend our thanks to our coaches Sara, Steven, and Rohan for their support and guidance throughout a very busy afternoon.

We are already looking forward to our next meet!
