SMNE Long Course (LC) Distance Meet Report

On Sunday 20 October, Pride, Engine and Cadet squads raced at the SMNE LC Distance Meet held here at Pymble. This event was not only a key date on our calendar but also an invaluable opportunity for our swimmers to build race fitness and fine-tune their racing strategies. Each race allowed our athletes to assess their current form and gauge how their preparation is shaping up for upcoming competitions.

We saw some fantastic swims, with Gwen Pickthall (Year 8) achieving a ten second personal best in the 200m individual medley and Elsa Yu (Year 7) demonstrating strong form in the 400m Freestyle. These achievements highlight the progress we’ve made in recent training blocks and set a promising tone for the future.

The SMNE LC distance meet provided valuable insights into our athletes’ performances and areas for improvement. As a coaching team, we were encouraged by how race fit our swimmers are, and we will use this feedback to refine our preparation for the upcoming key meets. With the SMNE LC Championships approaching, we’re confident that we’re moving in the right direction.

A special thanks to the parents, Mr Duccio Petri, and his lifeguard team for all their support!
