SMNE Olympic Dream Meets

On Sunday 15 September, 17 Pymble girls took part in the SMNE Olympic Dreams meet, held at our own pool at Pymble.

The meet was targeted at swimmers 12 years and under and each club chose a country to represent. Pymble chose Italy as their country and dressed up in blue colours. There was a lot of awesome energy on the pool deck and fast swimming on display, with many personal bests and top ten times achieved.

There was also a ‘skins’ race for eight to ten years and 11 to 12 years male and female swimmers. The ‘skins’ is a 50m freestyle elimination race. It starts with eight swimmers and the two lowest timed swimmers in each heat are eliminated until there are only two swimmers left for the final. Yuxi Lun (Year 4) took out the win for the eight- to ten-year-old girls in an exciting finish. Prizes were given to the top two fastest swimmers.

Thank you to our Pymble coaches Sara, Michelle, and Nikolai for helping prepare the team and for supporting the swimmers over the weekend. A huge thank you goes to Duccio and his team of lifeguards for a smooth and safe event.
