IGSA Swimming Report 2024

Congratulations to the 2024 Pymble IGSA swimming team for their exciting results at the IGSA Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday 22 March. Led by Swimming Captain, Piper Gregory-Reid (Year 12), our Pymble swimmers achieved outstanding results, securing 2nd place overall. A notable achievement on the day was that every one of our Pymble swimmers competed in a final.

Highlights of the day included:

Champion Relay: Senior Girls 4x50m Medley – Jessica Cullen (Year 11), Lily Lockhart (Year 11), Keira Smith (Year 11), Piper Gregory-Reid (Year 12), Hannah Carmichael (Year 11)

Individual Junior Champion: Megan Chia (Year 8)

Junior Pointscore Champions (equal): Pymble Ladies’ College

2024 Swimming and Diving Dinner

On Tuesday 2 April, the end of season Swimming and Diving Dinner was held at Pymble Golf Club. It was a wonderful celebration of the fantastic IGSA season for the Pymble Swimming team.

We extend our gratitude to our dedicated and enthusiastic coaches for their hard work throughout the 2023 to 2024 campaign: Michelle Thomas, Sara Petronzio, Steven Qu, and our strength and conditioning coach Jack Pennington. Special thanks to Swimming coordinator Samantha Dale for her tireless efforts.

We also express our appreciation to Mr Renshaw (Aquatics Manager), Mrs Edwards (Head of Sport), Mr Raw (Director of Sport), and our Principal, Dr. Hadwen for their continued support of our program.

We acknowledge the outstanding leadership of our captain, Piper Gregory-Reid, and congratulate our Year 12 swimmers for their significant contribution to swimming at the College: Piper Gregory-Reid, Arabella Cox, and Ellie Beck.

We wish our swimmers the best of luck when they compete at the Australian Swimming Championships on the Gold Coast from Saturday 6 April to Sunday 14 April. The IGSA team will also be announced shortly and will be published in next week’s newsletter. This team will compete at the NSWCIS Swimming Championships on Sunday 5 May and Monday 6 May 2024.

2024 NSW CIS Primary Championships

Six students from Pymble’s Junior School showcased their talent at the 2024 NSW CIS Primary Championships held at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on Wednesday 27 March. Crystal Li (Year 4), Puisai Victoria Ko (Year 6), Amélie Berg (Year 5), Olivia Yu (Year 4), Isabella Wang (Year 5) and Yuxi Lun (Year 4) all delivered exceptional performances in the pool. Their hard work and dedication are truly commendable.

We are thrilled to announce that the following Pymble swimmers achieved Top 3 finishes and have qualified for the PSSA championships which will be held on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 April.
