Pymble Sportswomen’s Awards Celebration 2025

On Friday 7 November, Pymble Ladies’ College hosted its annual Sportswomen’s Awards Night at Miramare, Terrey Hills. The evening saw an outstanding attendance of 416 students, parents, and staff, all gathered to celebrate the remarkable achievements and steadfast commitment of our sportswomen from Years 7 to 12 throughout 2025.

We were privileged to welcome our distinguished guest speaker, Miss Lauren Jackson AO, five-time Olympian and widely regarded as one of the greatest female basketball players of all time. Lauren graciously shared her insights and experiences in an engaging interview with our Head Coach of Basketball, Rachel Maenpaa, who is also a close friend. Lauren’s inspiring stories of success, resilience in adversity, and her ability to balance family life with elite sport resonated deeply with all in attendance.

This year, 198 students who participated in competitive sport received recognition across a broad range of awards. These included Athlete of the Year, All-Rounder of the Year, igsa Team of the Year, Representative Team of the Year, Strive for the Highest Awards, Sports Official of the Year, Olympic Changemaker Awards, Australian Representatives, as well as Para Sportswoman and Sportswoman of the Year.

While not every student who demonstrates sporting excellence can be acknowledged on the night, due to the sheer number of talented athletes representing Pymble, we extend our admiration to all those who contribute so passionately to our sporting community. For those unable to attend, please know that your efforts are valued and we encourage you to continue striving for excellence.

We extend our sincere appreciation to College Principal Dr Hadwen, Chris Fydler, Chair of Council, and the College Council for their unwavering support of our Sports program. We are also grateful for the ongoing encouragement from parents and carers, whose dedication empowers our students to pursue their sporting aspirations.
