Week 5

The world of Performing Arts is never quiet, and Term 4 is one of our busiest, with so much to do in such a short time frame. I am forever grateful of the brilliant staff and students who just get on with it and show up. Well done team!

Congratulations

String Quartet and Isabel Fan (Year 8) for their outstanding performances at the Sports Awards Dinner on Friday 7 November.

As guests arrived, Isabel Fan greeted them with a selection of piano repertoire, performed with poise and precision outside the lifts as attendees collected their drinks before descending the stairs.

Meanwhile, Sophie Guo (Year 12), Charli Conn (Year 9), Camellia Zhou (Year 10), and Sitian Chen (Year 10) formed a charming string quartet, serenading parents as they enjoyed pre-dinner conversations outdoors.

I was incredibly proud of these five talented young musicians—many parents even commented that they sounded like professionals. What a wonderful way to begin the evening.

Jazz Ensemble: Our wonderful Senior Jazz Ensemble provided musical entertainment as a prelude to the Visual Arts Awards evening on Tuesday 11 November. Parents and visitors were tapping along to some very cool music, which set the tone for a lovely evening.

String Orchestra and Capella Chamber Choir: Earlier in the day, our String Orchestra and Capella Chamber Choir performed for the Remembrance/Jacaranda Day service. Our Band Captain, Zoe Manning (Year 10), mastered the Last Post and Rouse, playing on the bridge between the Chapel and the David Blackwell Music Building. A glorious setting for a day of remembering.
