From Year 9 and 10 Contemporary Music Class

The Year 9 and 10 (100-hour) Music classes attended a performance of Cats the Musical. It was a remarkable experience, and we felt very fortunate to have the opportunity to see it. We departed school at recess and travelled by train to the Theatre Royal. After enjoying lunch in the city, we spoke with a clarinet player from the orchestra, who kindly answered some of our questions and gave us insight into what it is like to perform in a professional production.

Once we were seated in the balcony, which gave us an excellent view of the stage, the performance began in an unexpected way, with actors dressed as cats making their way down the aisles, even up to where we were sitting. The choreography and ensemble work were outstanding; the precision and chemistry among the performers made it impossible to look away.

Although Cats does not follow a traditional plot structure, the production was still thoroughly engaging. From the immersive opening to the final number, every aspect of the performance showcased incredible talent and creativity, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who attended.

Thank you so much to Ms. Zeltzer, Ms. Aquaro, and the Music Staff for organising this amazing experience for us.

Srishti Kumar (Year 10) and Heidi Ferreira (Year 9)

Thank you

This term has been full of events, both large and small, and we are incredibly grateful to the girls for their hard work and to the parents for your support.

Garden Party was a massive success with performances from our Junior Bands to our Senior Jazz groups, as well as our little pizzicatos and piccolines and older bands. Such a wealth of talent for a fantastic day.
