Congratulations

Congratulations to the Senior Jazz Ensemble, conducted by Ms Ashton, the Pymble Chorale, conducted by Mr Schweinberger, and Josephine Green (Year 12) for providing the music at the ANZAC Day Service on day one of term.

Laura Makeham (Year 11) performed the Last Post and Reveille at MUSEC, a school that is part of Macquarie University. It is so wonderful to see our girls give back in their service and provide an opportunity for others to meet them and talk about their musical journey.

Australian National Championships 2025 results

Madison Pearce (Year 11) was awarded 1st Place in the Junior Tenor Saxophone section.

Grace Walmsley (Year 11) came 2nd in the Junior French Horn section.

Angela Zhang (Year 11), Grace Walmsley (Year 11), Macy Sun (Year 11), and Audrey Quan (Year 7) all competed in the band section.

National Strike a Chord – Musica Viva

The Ivory Quartet (Joy Yin (Year 10), Alessandra Liew (Year 9), Danielle Hu (Year 8), and Ivy Yan (Year 7)) participated in a workshop at Monash University, being one of eight Chamber music groups selected from around Australia. The girls worked with professional musicians, who gave them advice on ways to improve their balance within an ensemble. The next step is the competition, so we will support these fabulous musicians and their director, Ms D’Elia.

Unfortunately, Alessandra was unable to make it, so we had a professional violist step in to workshop and the girls then performed without the viola part. This demonstrated a great ability to pivot and showed resilience in the face of nerves – well done girls!

Australian Youth Orchestra

Joanna Au (Year 11) was selected to be part of a week-long workshop at the Young Symphonists in the school holidays, held in Canberra. As a percussionist, this was a highly selective process, and Joanna was one of five from around Australia to be selected.
