Congratulations
- Joy Yin (Year 9)
Joy recently competed in the City of Minerbio International Piano Competition in Italy (which took place from Tuesday 1 to Sunday 6 October). This was her first performance at such a high-level international competition competing in the under 17 years age group.
We are very proud of Joy’s courage and commitment, where she remained focused on music making. Joy made it to the final round and was awarded the second prize. It was a very enriching and humbling experience, where she met many people and got valuable masterclass guidance, as well as making new friends during the competition.

Tour 2024
A handbook will be appearing in your inbox this week. Please download and keep this as it has ALL the information you will need for the trip, including packing list, venues, instrument packing suggestions, etc.
The tour is an enormous undertaking, and I am so grateful to you for allowing us to care for your daughters, as well as help them improve their skills as musicians and ensemble members. I was reminded the other night of the word “ensemble”, which is a word derived from the French, meaning “together”. Every rehearsal we work to create that sense of “togetherness”, and I want to pass on our collective thanks.
It is a privilege for us, although it does come with a mixed amount of stress and joy. The girls are amazing, and they really do give their all when they are with us. We remind them each week that we are only as strong as the weakest link, and I can confidently say that these links are getting stronger every week. We go home with enormous smiles on our faces and joy in our hearts, along with pride. Please do not miss the opportunity to come to the concert on Wednesday 20 November as we say “adios” to 2024.
Photos will be taken at rehearsal on Friday 18 October. Please remember to bring your performance uniform and change at lunch time.
