Music

Mrs Sarah Turner

Thank you

I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our parents, students and staff for another wonderful year of music-making. 2025 has been full and busy—as it always is—but the support, enthusiasm and generosity of our community make everything we do possible. For that, I am truly grateful.

As we head into the Christmas and New Year break, I hope you enjoy time with family and friends and find moments of stillness. A little boredom is a gift—it gives space for imagination, reflection and creativity, and our girls need all three.

Have a wonderful Christmas, a Happy New Year, and a fantastic holiday break.

Congratulations

Hayley Lam (Year 9) received a Highly Commended in the Flute Society of NSW’s Intermediate Championship. This is a huge accolade for Hayley as she competes against NSW finest flautists.

Year 4 Training Band Graduation

Last Thursday, the Year 4 Training Band performed for their parents as part of their graduation. These students began their instruments in February and by November, were producing beautiful sounds and creating music. In over 30 years of teaching, I still get goosebumps when I see how much is achieved by these vibrant, young musicians. All these students have now progressed into Stanhope Concert Band, and I look forward to hearing them on TUESDAY afternoons in the Music Gallery.
