Meet Pymble’s bus drivers

Every week we will feature a profile on one of our wonderful Pymble bus drivers. This week, we learn more about Mark on Bus 3 and what makes him tick!

Please tell us your name and a little bit about yourself.

My name is Mark Ledgar and I’m 60 years young! People often describe me as kind, generous, fun and loving.

If any, what careers did you have before becoming a bus driver?

Before becoming a bus driver, I used to work at Westpac, mainly in leasing administration.

Which Pymble bus do you drive and how long have you been a Pymble driver?

I have been a bus driver at Pymble for 15 months, and drive the North West bus 3.

You spend a great deal of your time on the road and have no doubt seen it all. What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to Sydney drivers?

Mainly drivers who don’t know the rules of the road.

What is your favourite part of working at Pymble?

I get great satisfaction out of making sure the children on my bus are kept safe.

Where is the best excursion/charter location you have driven to for Pymble? If new to Pymble, what other locations have you enjoyed driving to?

The favourite destinations I have driven to have definitely been Dee Why Surf Club and Taronga Zoo.

What was your favourite subject at school?

Maths and geography.

What do you like doing in your spare time?

Even though it’s my job, in my spare time I also love to go for drives! It’s even better when I take a drive to go trout fishing.
