Term 3
What a great Term 3 it has been for our Archdale and social debaters, our world’s debater, Maya Garg (Year 12), our MUN enthusiasts, our Mock Law girls and our public speakers. It was great to see and hear some Soapbox speeches, other speeches and our Antigone Mock Trial on repeat at the Garden Party. Thank you, girls, for all your involvement and participation this term; thanks parents for all your support this term. Best wishes for the finalists in the John Locke essay competition who will be travelling to London these holidays. Safe travels to all and farewell to Catherine Shi (Year 12), our 2025 Language Arts Captain. Best wishes to all our Language Arts Year 12 HSC girls!
DEBATING
Debating season is now in recess until the commencement of the International Debating Championships (IDC) in October.

Chinese Debating Auditions for the 2026 team
These auditions were held after school on Monday 22 September and Tuesday 23 September. Students who auditioned will be notified of results early next term. It is hoped that we will select a competition team and a backup team.
IDC
Thank you to the students who have registered teams internally for IDC. Students who registered as individuals, thank you for your patience as we finalise teams for this Term 4 online competition. We will try to accommodate you.

UN Voice of Youth
Thank you to our two senior Language Arts girls who progressed to state and national finals in this competition in previous years, and who will lead a second preparatory workshop this Friday. Thank you, families, for finalising registrations.
Pymble Model UN Club (PMUN)
PMUN runs each Monday lunch in DK06. Come along and join us this term. Everyone is welcome. Learn how to prepare for a MUN conference. Girls who attend MUN conferences, we would like you to also attend PMUN! Stay tuned for changes. We are planning to divide PMUN into a beginner PMUN and a senior PMUN next term.
Other MUNS
Yesterday over 40 girls attended the second Wednesday Trinity MUN. Last Saturday nine girls also attended Knox/Barker MUN.
Mock Law
Following the Mock Law workshop to outline our three competitions – Mediation, Mock Trial and Mooting. Team auditions occurred last Friday. They will be continued today.
Our Antigone Mock law team will start looking over material for their next trial.
