Archdale Debating Virtual Competition
Our Junior team competed in a tiebreaker this week. Canberra Girls Grammar School won the debate. Our Intermediate team are through to the finals to be held at MLC on 5 September.
Archdale Shield Debating
Year 9 and Year 7B competed in the Quarter finals this week at Pymble. Thank you to all who assisted with hosting. Parents, please note that transport to finals is not provided. Congratulations finalists! To our other Archdale teams, thanks for the season. We hope you enjoyed your debates, and we look forward to seeing you again at auditions in Term 4.
Sydney Social Debating (SSD)
Our SSD competition is growing! It will run each week from 3.30pm to 6.30pm in classroom C10. We are pleased to offer this developmental level competition to our Year 7 to 12 students again this term. Thank you to our student coaches and our adjudicators.
Junior School Social Debating Competition
It has been decided to offer a four-week season to our Year 6 girls. This is designed for beginner debaters. Debates start this Friday. Registrations have now closed, please contact Co-curricular Administration if you have missed registering your daughter for this activity.
International Debating Championship
Registrations have been sent to all who expressed interest in IDC. This competition commences in Term 4. There is still room for a few more Year 8 and 9 students. If you are interested, please email Mrs Hubbard as soon as possible.
Legacy Public Speaking
We had two students compete at the Legacy Public Speaking, North Sydney Regional final at The Arts Unit, Lewisham yesterday. Leahara Wijesuriya (Year 7) and Jenny Xu (Year 9) spoke persuasively, in both prepared and impromptu sections. The competition was strong with speakers from Wenona, Shore, Monte, Hornsby Girls and various other schools. Jenny is has progressed to the State semi-final at NSW Parliament House on Friday 15 September. Congratulations!
