Indoor Rock Climbing

Indoor Rock Climbing

Our Outdoor Education Prefect, Carrie Luo (Year 12) and Mrs Chris Boland, Co-ordinator – Duke of Edinburgh are excited to launch Indoor Rock Climbing, a brand new co-curricular activity for students in Years 7 to 12.

On Wednesday 7 February, Pymble held the first session at Climb Fit Macquarie, giving students the opportunity to try a new unique sport that allows them to challenge themselves and work together.

In the first session, students were introduced to the ropes, learnt how to belay and attempted climbing a few of the walls. This is a sport for people of any experience level, students in this group range from experienced climbers to first time climbers.

Rock climbing is a great way to meet students from all year groups and develop strength, confidence and physical skills that may lead to outdoor rock climbing as a hobby. Rock climbing is even an Olympic sport!

We are looking forward to seeing all students in the term 1 trial group improve. Please note that the term 1 class is full with a lengthy waitlist due to popularity, however, if successful this program may be offered in future terms.
