From the Upper School
A message from Mr Tom Riley, Head of Upper School
It has been a massive penultimate week in the Upper School with Year 10 engaged in their Future You Festival, and over 60 Year 9s enjoying Peer Support Training on Tuesday.
In collaboration with our Futures department, we have designed an exciting week for Year 10 to culminate their time in the Upper School and to get their mind thinking about what is to come. The week began with a fabulous talk by ex-student Sam D’Souza on being open to change and putting yourself in a position to experience luck. The girls then worked with Kathryn Taylor from Turning Point Consultancy to further explore their strengths profiles established earlier in the year, and to consider how to weave these into a job interview. We also made 1000s of menstrual products for Days for Girls, enjoyed an active session titled ‘Let’s Get Moving’, ‘speed-dated’ parents, alumni, and industry professionals to hear their journeys and stories in the working world, and also heard from senior staff on how to prepare for a leadership, Sony Camp, or gap year interview in Year 11. And this was just Monday and Tuesday! To get a sense of the full breadth of the week, please click here to view their workbook. We look forward to sharing some student reflections and more photos next week!

Our Year 9s enjoyed a session facilitated by Burn Bright on Tuesday as they prepared to become Peer Support Leaders for our incoming Year 7s. The girls spent the morning playing games, sharing stories, learning activities they can use to break the ice, and considering what actions an approachable and caring peer support leader might embody. We are excited to share with you their first steps on this journey in early January!
