From the Upper School

A message from Mr Riley, Head of Upper School

And just like that, unbelievably we are halfway through the year.

It has been an action-packed end to a busy Term 2, with our leaders planning and coordinating our Upper School Assembly on Tuesday. It was fun seeing 550 girls battle it out for trivia champion; a big congratulations to Athena Chen on their win! We also celebrated our Jacaranda Award recipients for Term 2.

Last weekend, Evie Leahy, Celeste McDermott Bulzoic, and Freya Howes (below) were sponsored by our Rotary Club to attend their annual Leadership Camp, RYPEN, in the Blue Mountains.

Elsewhere we have enjoyed seeing the broad successes of our girls including;

  • Zara Cooke and Keira Mironova competing in the Netherlands and Hungary for Water Polo for Australia
  • Anda Xintong Wang being crowned adult division champion for 2023 ADS Night of Stars Dancesport National Championship held in Perth
  • Samantha He competing in this year’s Hollin’s Trophy International, a prestige figure skating event in Australia
  • Our Year 9 and 10 girls competing NSW All Schools Touch Gala Day
  • A celebration BBQ for our Year 10 Peer Support Leaders with their Year 7 Compass Cohorts
  • A wide variety of girls strutting their stuff a lunchtime concert for Wellbeing Week!

I hope you manage some time with your girls over the break and encourage them to properly recharge their batteries. There is a lot of exciting events planned for both Year 9 and 10 in the latter half of the year, and we look forward to having them firing on all cylinders.
