From the Senior School
From the Head of Senior School – Mrs Nikki Wyse
I am delighted to see many of our girls making excellent use of their Prep and Study lessons to organise their time efficiently. It is inspiring to watch their commitment as they tackle their initial assessment tasks. These tasks offer a valuable chance for feedback on academic progress and growth in important skills like workload management, which will benefit them greatly in the year ahead.
As students receive the results of their first round of assessment tasks, this is a valuable opportunity to reflect on their progress and learning. While many will feel proud of their achievements, others may experience disappointment or frustration. Encourage your daughter to remember that each assessment is part of a much longer journey of academic growth, not a final judgment of ability or potential. Discuss the feedback together and help her look for patterns or areas for improvement rather than focusing solely on marks. If she feels disheartened, remind her that every challenge provides important lessons in persistence and self-awareness. Practical strategies such as setting small, achievable goals, seeking clarification from teachers and maintaining healthy routines can also help her regain confidence and stay motivated for the term ahead.
Summer is here!
As the days become warmer, I encourage everyone to prioritise their well-being by ensuring sufficient rest, staying well-hydrated and protecting themselves from too much sun exposure. Maintaining these healthy habits supports focus and overall wellness.
Year 5 Buddy Christmas Celebration
This week, we joyfully marked the conclusion of our Year 5 buddy program with a festive Christmas celebration. Over the year, the girls have built meaningful friendships, and this special event highlighted their wonderful connections. The day was filled with holiday spirit and friendship.
Alongside the festivities, the students engaged in fun activities looking forward to the season ahead. From colouring cards and writing letters to Santa, to crafting decorations, the celebrations invited every student to participate in a way that felt personal and joyful.
A sincere thank you goes to Dasha and Anita for their dedication in preparing and organising this memorable occasion. Their hard work made the day extra special for all involved.
The friendships formed through the buddy program will continue to flourish next year, providing ongoing opportunities for the girls to deepen their bonds and share new experiences. It was a truly heartwarming way to close the year.
2026: Take A Risk
The Year 12 girls launched their 2026 theme, Take a Risk, in a spirited and inspiring Combined Assembly this week. Led by Grace and Jenny, and choreographed by Hayley and Stella, the performance captured the courage and determination of Moana, a young woman who steps beyond the safety of the shore to follow her calling and serve her community. Like Moana, our Year 12 students are encouraging their younger peers to embrace challenges with bravery, to learn through uncertainty, and to trust in their abilities as they navigate their challenges. The energy, creativity, and pride shown by the entire year group beautifully reflected the College spirit and the promise of an exciting year ahead. Their teachers could not have been prouder of this wonderful group of young women!
