From the Principal

The end of Term 3 is always bittersweet for many of us as we celebrate and farewell Year 12. Some of these students have been with us since Kindergarten, others joined us later, and then there are our Boarders who have lit up our campus, 24/7, term after term for many years. Each has left an indelible mark on the members of our Pymble family who have known, guided and supported this beautiful cohort at some stage in their journey from school children to young adults.

On the sweet side, we are excited to see results of their major works start to trickle in ahead of the final HSC examinations, which begin next term.

Congratulations to our entire HSC Drama cohort of Diana, Anais, Esther, Genevieve, Darcey, Doris, Claire, Elizabeth, Madeline and Madeleine, who have all received an OnSTAGE nomination from NESA for their Group Performance. Eight students in the class have also been nominated for their Individual Performance, so great job overall by team Drama.

In HSC Dance, our students collectively have received 17 nominations for CALLBACK, with Alanah and Emily each claiming a triple! Congratulations to all our nominees: Sofia, Sabrina, Keira, Lily, Amelia, Emily, Alanah, Felicity and Alexandra.

And news just in yesterday, our HSC Music 1, 2 and Extension students have received in total seven nominations for ENCORE. Take a bow, Eden, Lily, Ella and Aine.

These nominations are a credit to the hard work and dedication of our students, and their teachers, who spend countless hours devising, creating and refining (and refining and refining again) their incredible projects and performances before submitting them for marking. Well done, to one and all.

At the same time, early offers are coming in from some of the local universities. We also have several students who have secured scholarships and cadetships, and others that are still in the running, which is a great position to be in heading into the final exams. Our teachers look forward to supporting many of our Year 12s at our pre-HSC Study Camp in the holidays where, together, they will build on the deep knowledge and skills demonstrated in their Trial examinations with a final round of practice papers and one-on-one sessions to ensure our girls are as prepared as possible to meet the challenge ahead. Go well, Class of 2025. You’ve got this!

Thank you for being our “village”

As we head into the break, I’m feeling deeply grateful for the respectful partnership between our students, parents and staff at the College. Our girls’ educational experience is enhanced exponentially when we all work together cohesively and with mutual values in mind. We share your pride when your daughters are thriving and achieving their goals, and appreciate that it really does take a village to raise children into adults. We look forward to seeing everyone back here to finish of the year on a high in Term 4.

Speaking of villages, a huge thank you to all the students, families and staff who contributed to the most wonderful Garden Party last weekend. It was such a joy to spend time on the Foundation stand surrounded by the warmth of our community – catching up with friends, listening to performances and enjoying the diverse food on offer. This day really is the ultimate showcase of our community spirit and the values we share.

It is my pleasure to leave you with these snapshots of the day and hopefully, like me, a warm feeling of Pymble Pride.
