EmPOWER Lunch – Journalism

On Friday 1 March at lunchtime in the Library Learning Studio, our Learning Prefects will be hosting ex student Olivia Kinghorst (Chang, 2011) in our first Empower Lunch for 2024.

What is EmPOWER Lunch?

An initiative which started in 2022 and led by the Learning Prefect team, EmPOWER Lunches are open to students in Year 7-12 to meet with Alumni, guests and industry experts to learn about them and their career paths.

Our special guest, Olivia is a respected international journalist who has volunteered her time to come meet students to share her insights on working in the field of media and journalism and her career path to date.

Students who are interested need to register their place at the event for catering purposes.

An invitation link will be sent to students via email.

Masterclass

Following the emPOWER Lunch, Year 11 and 12 students are invited to join Olivia Kinghorst in a masterclass on effective communication based on her experience as a presenter, moderator and journalist.

You can read more about Olivia and her work here.
