Early Entry Offers

Our Year 12 students are currently receiving early offers to study university courses of their choice – how exciting! To date, Pymble students have reported offers from Australian National University, Macquarie University, University of Wollongong, University of Tasmania, La Trobe University and Charles Sturt University, with many more likely to follow. Last year, 86 per cent of our 2022 cohort received at least one early offer – and one student alone received 12 offers before she sat for her first HSC examination.
The value of an early offer is different for each student but, in summary, reflects the sum of their achievements prior to receiving an ATAR, including Stage 6 results, leadership roles, volunteer work, and other successes achieved prior to the HSC exams. This year, top universities such as the University of NSW started accepting portfolio work – for example, a Pymble Passport – as additional documentation to support a students’ application for early entry. Another great reason to keep those passports current and well-maintained!

For some, an early entry offer is a great confidence booster and assurance of a place in their preferred degree. This is not to say students who receive early offers should take their foot off the pedal. Our Director of Studies, Mrs Natasha Stanfield, always reminds the girls ‘don’t drop the ball’, as offers are often conditional, meaning they are reliant on students attaining a baseline ATAR or maintaining their current academic standards. A higher ATAR also gives students more choice of offers they are yet to receive through the Universities Admissions Centre preference system. On that note, Year 12, don’t forget to register for our five-day Spring Study Camp in the September holidays to make the most of our focused, structured and supported study environment before the HSC exams begin in Term 3.

It is an exciting time for Year 12 and their families as future pathways start to take shape and the realities of the end of schooling draw nearer. Our Futures department is here to support all students. Please ensure your daughter registers her university offers here so the College can acknowledge and celebrate her efforts. Students and parents in all year groups are always welcome to contact our Futures team for any advice required to make decisions about careers, pathways and next steps.
