Sports Awards Dinner 2024
On Friday 8 November, the Pymble Sportswomen’s Awards night took place at Miramare Gardens in Terrey Hills, with an impressive turnout of 397 students, staff and parents. This annual event celebrated the exceptional achievements and unwavering dedication of sportswomen from Years 7 to 12 who have excelled in their respective sports throughout 2024.
The evening featured inspiring guest speakers, including Olympian and Pymble Alumni Kristie Edwards, and Paralympian Mali Lovell, who were interviewed by Melinda Gainsford-Taylor, Pymble’s Head Coach for sprints and a three-time Olympian. Their personal stories and insights were truly motivational.
A total of 185 students involved in competitive sports received recognition through a variety of awards. These accolades included Athlete of the Year, All-Rounder of the Year, IGSA Team of the Year, Representative Team of the Year, Strive for the Highest Awards, Sports Officials of the Year, Olympic Changemaker Awards, Australian Representatives, and the Para Sportswoman and Sportswoman of the Year awards.
The College recognises that not every student who demonstrates excellence can be honoured during this event due to the high number of talented participants who proudly represent Pymble in sports. For those unable to attend, your contributions to the College’s sporting community do not go unnoticed, and we encourage you to keep reaching for your highest potential.
Furthermore, the evening was an opportunity to commend two dedicated staff members, Chris Lang and Katie White, for their longstanding commitment and service to the College.
A special thanks extends to our College Principal, Dr Hadwen, along with Chris Fydler, Chair of Council, and the College Council for their steadfast support of our outstanding sport program. We also appreciate all the parents and carers who consistently encourage and support their daughters in pursuing their sporting passions.
