From the Co-curricular Performing Arts Team

As we come to the end of Term 3 and farewell our Year 12 students in the Performing Arts, let us join together and simply shout to the rooftops, “well done”. Your dedication and commitment have been undoubted. Your passion for your respective artistic crafts to be lauded. Your love and support of each other in fabulously creative and collaborative contexts have been profoundly inspiring.

We respectfully doff our hats to you Year 12 Performing Arts students of 2023. May your future journeys be eternally enriched by your past experiences in the Performing Arts at Pymble.

It is with great pleasure that I also announce a Drama production of 12 Angry Women performed entirely by Year 11 students in Term 4 Week 1.

This complex and powerful play will be the first Drama production to be staged in the Drama Theatre formerly known as the Science Lecture Theatre.

The play concerns 12 female jurors who must decide whether a young negro male is guilty of murder and therefore will be executed.

In the initial jury voting process, 11 jurors find the boy guilty. One juror must defend the boy’s circumstances and slowly, across the play, bring all the other jurors to agree to vote not guilty.

The play’s universal themes of racism, bigotry and the integrity of justice still resonate today.

The cast is comprised entirely of Year 11 students who are listed below:

Bella Walker, Imogen Hawkins, Aashna Rana, Estelle Vander, Demi Volos, Claire Spring, Lydia Heazlewood-Lee, Lily Hearne, Isabel Aveling, Murphy Scott, Finley Saghaie, Sophia Thurkettle and Amelie Matthews as the Guard.

A distinguished ensemble indeed. Click here to purchase your tickets!
