From the Co-curricular Performing Arts Team
As we journey towards the end of the term with the accompanying glory of a long weekend immediately ahead, I warmly invite you to consider the ongoing achievements of Pymble girls in the Performing Arts in the articles below.
The ongoing achievements for Dance and Drama in various eisteddfod competitions and the exciting preparations for the Concerto Competition finals and Secondary School Concert for Music are just some of the highlights of the week. Please read carefully the ongoing and valuable information for Language Arts as well.
One of the privileges of my role is to walk through the Performing Arts areas after school to experience the animated and a scholarly preparation of debaters, to hear the rigorous soundscapes of Drama groups in intense collaboration, to witness the still and committed faces of dancers as they receive feedback and the vitality and exuberance of the Year 4 band and Year 3 string ensembles whose energetic performances raise the roof!
No matter how busy or complex the day, the energy and passion of these students continue to revive and inspire me and indeed all of the teachers and practitioner who work with them. I reiterate my favourite line from Shakespeare; “joy’s soul lies in the doing”.
