igsa Football Round 4

The fourth round of the igsa Football season took place this past weekend with only two of our 12 Pymble teams competing. The wet weather wreaked havoc last week which caused all grass fields to be closed. Nevertheless, two of our senior teams had matches on synthetic and played incredibly entertaining games.

Pymble 3 picked up their third win in a row with a solid performance against Ascham. Aniela Knight (Year 10) scored all four goals to earn herself Round 4 MVP.

Pymble 4 picked up their first points of the season with a five all draw against Abbotsleigh. Having only scored four goals in their previous two games combined, our girls put on a goalscoring clinic.

School Pathway Updates

On Wednesday 21 May, our CIS Football Cup team defeated Bishop Druitt College 7 to 1, which now puts us into the semi-final where we will face Central Coast Sports College. The goal scorers against Bishop Druitt were Alethea Levy (Year 12), Willa Pearson (Year 9), Sasha Chan (Year 11), and a brace each for Havana Gray (Year 7) and Amelia Bicego (Year 10). Our next game will take place at Valentine Sports Park on Wednesday 11 June.

In the Bill Turner Trophy, our 15s and under team defeated NBC Mackellar to move onto the semi-final of the North Area Division. A 3 to 1 scoreline against Mackellar saw us come away victorious with a goal from Georgia Blue (Year 8) and a brace from Havana Gray (Year 7).

On Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 May, four of our senior girls will be representing igsa in at the NSWCIS Football championships. Willa Pearson (Year 9) will be donning the black and pink for igsa for a third consecutive year. A huge congratulations to Alethea Levy (Year 12), Amelia Brandon (Year 11), and Eve Goldsworthy (Year 10), who will be making their debuts for the igsa Football representative team.

Good luck to all four students!
