Equestrian

From the Friday 31 May to Tuesday 4 June, 11 students represented Pymble at the Northwest Equestrian Expo in Coonabarabran. This event hosts approximately 500 riders from schools across NSW. Students competed in a range of events from combined training, where they demonstrated their proficiency in both dressage and showjumping to the pentathlon which encompassed many events form showjumping to javelin, running and many other events. All students representing Pymble showed great courage, pride and sportsmanship both during and after their events. Thank you to all parents for their support and helping students prepare and perform across the week – without the efforts of parents, the event could not have run smoothly.

One of the highlights of the competition was the Polo X competition where our Pymble riders excelled, securing 3rd place podium position. Saskia Fitzgerald’s (Year 12) ability to move around defenders and constantly score points was instrumental in the team’s success. Poppy Barwick’s (Year 9) strong defence held opposing teams’ points to a minimum. Selina Kerin’s (Year 8) passing skills up and down the field aided in swift and efficient ball movement. Congratulations to those students and their phenomenal efforts in the Polo X event.
