School Sport Australia (SSA) Diving Championships, Adelaide – 10 to 17 August
Last week, the SSA Diving Championships were held in Adelaide. Pymble was represented this year by Zara Ware (Year 5) and Amélie Berg (Year 5), and Mrs Chris Lang as manager in charge of the NSW team. SSA is an outstanding opportunity for participants to compete at the highest level, to pursue personal goals in diving, demonstrate good sportsmanship and leadership, and to make and renew friendships both on their team and with their peers from interstate and New Zealand.
The divers competed in a range of exciting events including platform, springboard, synchronised diving, and individual knockout. In addition to diving events, the team were able to participate in an educational experience to the West Beach Mega Adventure Park. For our divers it was an incredible week, and the individual results reflected Zara and Amélie’s commitment to the sport of diving. Leadership and sportsmanship are a huge part of SSA and a particular commendation to Zara who was awarded a SSA Sport and Sportsmanship Award for her conduct throughout the week.
Congratulations to Zara and Amélie who had great success throughout these championships. The memories formed will remain a highlight for years to come.
