From the Chaplains
By now, our students and families should know I have received a call to minister at Balmain Uniting Church and will finish my time here at Pymble at the end of this Term. It seems fitting that this announcement was made on Valentine’s Day – a day that has become synonymous with the expression love – and ahead of Transfiguration Day on Sunday when Jesus is seen and loved by our community.
I look forward to my last two months with Pymble students, staff and families and want to thank you for all your care and support during my time here at the College. My journey at Pymble has been one of love. It has been a privilege to be one of your Chaplains for the last 11 and a half years. I have valued getting to know the students, working with the amazing staff, and ministering in this diverse community. It has been a privilege to live within a multi-cultural, multi-faith community, which is intentional about being inclusive.
I want to thank all the amazing staff for the work they do here at the College – the teachers, facilities team, finance team, cleaners, administrators, operational staff and coaches are genuinely an inspiration in the work they do and the way they do it. We are also very fortunate to have incredible leadership at the school, with leaders who are easy to talk to. To my fellow chaplain, Rev Bent, who is an inspiration to work with, a person who embodies the love of God, and one who loves all our students and all our staff, thank you.
It is a bittersweet time for me right now, however, I plan to savour every moment of the next two months and save my heartfelt goodbyes for a later date.
Love and blessings to you all.
