2023 Short Course Junior State
On Saturday 9 September and Sunday 10 September our Pymble ble swim team took part at the short course Junior State Championships at Sydney Olympic Park. Junior State is one of the most important competitions for our junior swimmers, where the fastest swimmers from all NSW get the chance to race against each other.
Pymble ble swimming had 13 Pymble ble girls qualify for this meet with a total of 31 individual events, 15 new personal best including seven top 10. Pymble ble also qualified eight relays teams with a total of 5 personal bests, six top 10 and a bronze medal.
Relays Results:
Bronze medal – 4x50m Medley 12 years old Team A (Anne Liu (Year 7), Imogen Jones (Year 7). Team B ranking 16th (Gwen Pickthall (Year 7).
4th – 4x50m Freestyle 12 years old Team A (Anne Liu (Year 7); Imogen Jones (Year 7), Team B ranking 10th (Avika Kapoor (Year 6).
5th – 4x50m Freestyle 10 to 11 years old Team A (Georgia Friedel (Year 6); Oriana Fenton (Year 6); Penelope Hargraves (Year 6). Team B ranking 11th (Carla Mikkeline Eibach (Year 6); Emma Deere (Year 4); Chloe Shires (Year 6).
5th – 4x50m Medley 10 to 11 year old Team A (Penelope Hargraves (Year 6); Chloe Xiong (Year 6); Oriana Fenton (Year 6). Team B raking 9th (Carla Mikkeline Eibach (Year 6); Chenxuan Yu (Year 6).

Carla Mikkeline Eibach (Year 6): 50m Backstroke – 18th.
Oriana Fenton (Year 6): 200m Breaststroke – 6th; 100m Breaststroke – 9th; 50m Breaststroke – 12th; 200m Freestyle – 13th.
Georgia Friedel (Year 6): 100m Backstroke – 15th; 100m Freestyle – 16th.
Penelope Hargraves (Year 6): 100m Backstroke – 9th; 50m Backstroke – 11th; 200m Backstroke – 12th.
Imogen Jones (Year 7): 100m Backstroke – 9th; 50m Breaststroke -10th; 50m Backstroke – 13th.
Anne Liu (Year 7): 50m Backstroke – 9th.
Charlotte Sadler (Year 7):100m Breaststroke – 6th.
All the swimmers did an amazing job during on the weekend and had a lot of fun cheering for their teammates. A big thank you to all the parents/carers for their support and help during the weekend and to our two coaches Michelle and Sara who supported the Pymble ble girls during the whole weekend of competition.
