Archdale Debating

Archdale Virtual competition – The Junior team competed in a tiebreaker this week. Results will be released soon. The Intermediate team are through to the finals to be held at MLC on 5 September.

Archdale 7B and Year 9 are through to the Quarter finals next week. Venue/s will be confirmed as soon as these details are confirmed. Parents, please note that transport to finals is not provided.

Congratulations finalists! To our other Archdale teams, thanks for the season. We hope you enjoyed your debates, and we look forward to seeing you again at auditions in Term 4.

Archdale Representative Debating Team

We are pleased to announce Maya Garg (Year 10) has been selected for the Archdale Representative Debating team. From the 38 students who tried out last Sunday, a team of 12 has been selected from nine IGSA schools. Congratulations Maya and all the best for the season.

Sydney Social Debating (SSD)

SSD competition resumed last Friday at Pymble. It will run each week from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. Please meet in C10 again. We are pleased to offer this developmental level competition to our Year 7 to 12 students again this term. Thank you to our student coaches and adjudicators.

We are pleased to announce that we won two out of four debates last week.

Junior School Social Debating Competition

Please email Mrs Hubbard if your daughter is interested in Year 6 Social Debating Competition on a Friday from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. This competition is designed for beginner debaters. If enough interest is received, we will send registration information to parents and commence a four-week season on Friday 25 August.

International Debating Championship

Registrations will be sent to all who registered interest in IDC in the coming weeks. This competition commences in Term 4. There is still room for a few more Year 8 and 9 students. Please email Mrs Hubbard as soon as possible if you are interest in participating.

Legacy Public Speaking

Best wishes to Jenny Xu and Leahara Wijesuriya who will speak at the Legacy Regional final, The Arts’ Unit, Lewisham, from 9.30am on Tuesday 22 August.
