The Senior Firsts had a big game against Loreto Normanhurst. Our Pymble basketballers fought hard with Izabella Ziolkowski (Year 10) and Sophie Van Kerkwijk (Year 12) sharing the role of locking down their best defender and holding her to five points throughout the whole game. Abigail Tyler (Year 12) did some fantastic shooting to help keep us in the lead. Amarley Bron (Year 12) inspired everyone by her moving speech during the First Nations round ceremonies, also inspiring the team to keep their cool every time Loreto came close to the point score. It was a courageous five-point win to keep the Senior Firsts undefeated with only one game left until finals.

Charlotte Craig (Year 10) made lots of rebounds and scored at will in the post for Pymble 2. Special shout-out goes to McKenzie Ward (Year 12) for not only being an absolute scoring and rebounding machine in her Pymble 6 win, but then filling in for Pymble 2 after her game.

Claire Spring (Year 11) was impressive in transition, driving hard to the hoop for some great baskets for Pymble 3.

Pymble 4 had an inspiring match against Tara tying them in a draw.

Matilda Batman (Year 11) showed earnest effort and never gave up the fight until the buzzer went off for Pymble 5.

Annabel Charnock (Year 10) had great runs to the basket, played hard, and scored an inspiring three pointer at the end of the game for Pymble 7.

The Pymble 8 team played hard, only losing by two points, but fighting until the end.

Scarlet Olesen (Year 9) was huge on the boards and protecting the rim on defence and produced some big shots in the clutch as well for Pymble 9’s first win against the second-place team in the competition.

Emily Huang (Year 8) followed the coaches’ instructions perfectly and made great decisions in her Pymble 10 game.

Pymble 11 had wonderful team effort, and all players worked together to get their first win in the season!

Mia Sherry (Year 8) had great rebounding, passing and was hungry for the ball for Pymble 12.

While Pymble 14 lost, they all have made massive improvements in their confidence in shooting the ball, dribbling, and understanding basketball as this season was their first to play basketball for many.

Ariana Azizmohammad (Year 7) had impressive effort throughout the game, her defence was particularly good in the second half and contesting shots for Pymble 15.

Pymble 16 had a heartbreaking one-point loss, but all players fought hard throughout the game.

In Pymble 17’s game, Emma Koorey (Year 7) was aggressive on both ends of the floor getting steals on defence, directing her teammates and making shots on offense while Erica Kwok (Year 7) made some big shots for as well.
