Drama
Co-Curricular Drama has had a busy start to Term 2, with three competitions occurring in our first two weeks of term.
Our Year 8 to 11 Theatresports students competed in the Senior and Intermediate Theatresports Schools Challenge on 1 and 2 May. This event required them to improvise a variety of scenes, and students were scored against up to 10 other schools. We are so proud of our Pymble girls and their efforts. Murphy Scott (Year 11) and Finley Saghaie (Year 11) placed 3rd in the Senior Competition, and Andelle Parker (Year 10), Nikita Srivastava (Year 9) and Cindy Wang (Year 8) placed 6th in the Intermediate Competition.
Additionally, Sport for Jove held their annual Regional Shakespeare Carnival event on Monday 8 May. Two of our Filmmaking students, Chloe Kim (Year 11) and Kathie Ong (Year 10) entered their original film, inspired by Shakespeare’s Sonnet 5. The girls’ hard work paid off and they were awarded first place, being selected to continue through to the State Carnival. Well done, Chloe and Kathie!
We have a busy remainder of term for our Eisteddfod Drama students with Sharp and Short Eisteddfod, Sydney Eisteddfod and Inner West Eisteddfod all occurring in Term 2, Week 6. We wish all these students the best of luck with their preparations and look forward to hearing the outcome of their efforts in a few weeks.
