It was an exciting weekend for Pymble Basketball!
Starting us off were the Senior Firsts in a convincing 61-23 win over St. Vincent’s. The entire team played with a full-court intensity sparked by Ariana Ziolkowski (Year 9) who had numerous steals and deflections in our full-court press. Yvette Volk (Year 11) continuously finished off the fastbreak plays with crafty lay-ups.
Lucy Pennington (Year 11) played with such intensity and energy and continually kept the team morale high on Pymble 2.
Georgia Bicego (Year 11) on Pymble 3 attacked the basket hard and was always making the right plays; no one on the opposition could stop her.
Sophie Livingstone (Year 11) had at least 8 steals and 4 blocks on the defensive end and was just as active on the offensive end for Pymble 4 with her team dropping a heartbreaking loss by just 3 points.
Caitlin Pridmore (Year 11) was also incredibly active both on offense in running the transition and on defence getting steals and deflections for Pymble 5.
Pymble 6 continued with their team morale high on a 23 to 3 win over Queenwood.
Alice Beveridge (Year 10) had many great layups and didn’t let the other team move a centimetre without contesting them with excellent defence, giving Pymble 7 a convincing 20 point win.
Pymble 8 also had a convincing 36 to 12 win over Brigidine.
Zara Pattinson (Year 9) was so aggressive on offence really shooting the basketball well for Pymble 9.
Alexandra Warren (Year 8) played great defence and continued to catch rebounds with great team spirit for Pymble 10.
Big shoutout to Ella Mitchell (Year 9) for her awesome communication both on and off the court for Pymble 11, showing great leadership skills with her continuous support of her teammates.
Pymble 12 had a convincing 31 to 10 win over Queenwood.
Abbey Pisani (Year 7) had great defence and attacked the basket hard for Pymble 13.
Sasha Paris (Year 7) and Savannah Lorimer (Year 7) were relentless for Pymble 14 in their comeback win over PLC Sydney.
