Santa Sabina Volleyball Round 4
Round 4 of the 2025 Santa Sabina Invitational Volleyball Competition took place last Saturday, and our Pymble teams once again delivered a strong set of performances, displaying both teamwork and determination across the board.
Pymble 1 continued their fantastic run, producing a dominant 3 to 0 victory against OLMC 1. The girls showed great cohesion from the outset and set the tone for the rest of the day.
Our Senior Seconds, Pymble 2, faced St. Andrew’s 2 and showcased their steady improvement, securing a 2 to 0 win. Their control and communication on court have continued to grow with every round.
Pymble 3 were due to face Abbotsleigh 4; however, they received a forfeit win (3 to 0) this week. While disappointed not to take to the court, the girls maintained their positive attitude and look forward to the next challenge.
Pymble 4 matched up against St. Vincent’s 3 and emerged with a well-earned 2 to 0 win. Their focus and energy were evident throughout, helping them maintain momentum and close out both sets convincingly.
Pymble 5, our Year 8 Division 1 team, faced a tightly contested match against Santa Sabina 6. Despite the back-and-forth nature of the game, the girls fought hard for a 1 to 1 draw, showing resilience under pressure and maintaining their solid start to the season.
Pymble 6 came up against Mercy College 2 and, despite a committed effort, suffered a 0 to 3 loss. The team continued to demonstrate great spirit and effort, and every week brings further progress and valuable experience.
Rounding out the weekend, our Year 7s (Pymble 7) took on Santa Sabina 17. After a closely fought match, they claimed a 2 to 1 win, rallying well after dropping a set and finishing strongly—evidence of their growth and determination as a team.
Congratulations to all our players for their commitment and enthusiasm and thank you to our coaches and supporters. We look forward to building on these results in the coming rounds!

Senior 1st Match Report by Volleyball Captain, Olivia Ayton (Year 11)
This week, we played a riveting match against Our Lady of Mercy College. Despite the persistent wind and sunny weather, the team maintained its composure, securing a victory in the first set with service aces and powerful spikes. Our opponents remained undeterred, however, intensifying their attack and tightening their defence, leading to many extended rallies and exciting plays. After claiming a win in the second set, we played an additional third set, concluding the match with a final score of 3 to 0. The improvement in our movement, communication, and overall team cohesion is notable, and I couldn’t be prouder of my teammates for their mettle and effort.
