NSW All Schools Years 7/8 Touch Football State Finals
Congratulations to our outstanding students who represented Pymble in the Years 7/8 NSW All Schools State Finals. It was a day of thrilling competition, exceptional teamwork, and a true showcase of the Pymble spirit.
Our team delivered tremendous performances right from the outset. In their first match of the day, they faced St Mary’s School and, with some scintillating play, secured a well-deserved 3 to 1 victory. Buoyed by this fantastic start, the girls went on to defeat Terrigal High School 3 to 0 in the second match, demonstrating great skill and determination.
The competition only intensified as the day went on. Against Mount Saint Benedict’s, the team fought hard to earn a 3 to 3 draw, followed by a tightly contested 2 to 2 draw against Westfield Sports High. These results saw the Pymble team finish second in their pool – an exciting achievement in itself!
Moving into the quarter-final, the girls displayed resolute focus and teamwork, overcoming Xavier Catholic College with an impressive 2 to 0 win. This triumph earned them their place in the semi-final, where they faced a highly competitive Hunter Sports High side. Despite a valiant effort and some excellent play, the team went down 5 to 2 in what was an exceptionally high standard of touch football.
This marks a historic moment for Pymble, as it is the first time a Pymble team has reached a semi-final at the NSW All Schools State Finals. What an extraordinary achievement for this group of talented and determined girls!
