Introducing Lara Waterhouse (Year 10) – TheatreSports Captain for 2025/2026
We would like to introduce you to a student who is making fantastic contributions to the 2025/2026 Co-Curricular Drama program: Lara Waterhouse. Lara is a Year 10 student who participates in a multitude of co-curricular drama classes offered at Pymble, including Years 7 to 12 Theatresports and Improvisation, Year 9/10 Eisteddfod Drama (Duos/Trios), Year 9/10 Eisteddfod Drama (Group), Advanced Musical Theatre, and Years 9 to 12 Musical Theatre (Solos/Duos). She is also the incoming TheatreSports Captain for 2025/2026. Lara has always held a deep love for drama, having been involved from a very young age. We asked Lara a couple of questions about her involvement with co-curricular drama.
What is your role as Theatresports Captain?
As TheatreSports Captain, my job is to help support the team, bring supportive energy to training, and make sure everyone feels included and confident, no matter what their experience is. I want to help create a fun, welcoming space where people can take risks, be a little weird, and grow as performers.
What do you love most about Co-curricular Drama?
I love how drama gives you the freedom to be creative, express yourself, and step into someone else’s shoes. Whether it’s improv or a full production, it’s always a space full of connection, laughter, and support.
What is the best thing you have learnt in your classes?
I’ve learnt how to trust my instincts, take risks, and that no offer is ever too obscure in TheatreSports, the weirder the better! Our teacher creates such a fun and supportive environment where we feel totally safe to be ridiculous, try new things, and learn through doing. It’s taught me that confidence isn’t about being perfect, it’s about being present, bold, and open to whatever happens next.

Lara is excited to begin acting as TheatreSports Captain for 2025/2026, leading the TheatreSports class at competitions and performances. She is a wonderful and dedicated student in Co-curricular Drama and continues to lead not only in TheatreSports but in all other aspects of her schooling experience.
