Sydney Royal Easter Show Report 2025
The 2025 Cattle Team presented two middle weight steers, Vegemite and Vermin, at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. They were bred and purchased from the Laurie Family, Knowla Livestock. Ted and Alison Laurie are ex-Pymble Ladies’ College parents, and we are very grateful for their ongoing support for the school’s cattle program and enabling the girl’s involvement within the beef cattle industry.
We have a very strong team of girl’s who willingly give up their time and energy for the school’s program – it was excellent to see the attendance and professional display provided at this year’s Sydney Royal Easter Show and into the Easter holiday break. Each day we had 10 to 12 students on rotation looking after the cattle, maintaining the area, and presenting the animals to an exceptional standard. The girls received several commendations from the public, including one member from the public calling the school wishing to express their heartfelt appreciation for the interaction they had with our girls as the girl’s had highlighted their knowledge, passion, and commitment they had for the Cattle team and their school! A very Pymble proud moment!

The high standard of student participation, their involvement in an industry with deep rooted traditions and expectations. It is a privilege to witness the girls hitting and meeting these standards consistently is very encouraging and heartwarming. My sincere congratulations must be extended to Zoe Glendinning (Year 12) and Hannah Weber (Year 12), the Captains of Cattle Team, as they gently encouraged and nurtured the younger girls to maintain the high standards, building on the Pymble standards of excellence! Congratulations to the team.
