Volleyball Week 1

Round 1 of the 2024 Santa Sabina Invitational Volleyball Competition took place this past Saturday 19 October. We had a fantastic first week of training with spirits and energy levels at an all-time high, which flowed into our game play in round 1. Our Pymble teams came away with six wins from seven games, with our Year 7 team narrowly losing by two points in their first ever competitive game.

Senior First Report from our Volleyball Captain Chloe Gu (Year 11)

In the first week of the Santa Sabina Volleyball competition, Pymble 1 faced off against Abbotsleigh in a thrilling match. Although the match was played on an outdoor court, and our players had to adjust to both the sun and the wind, they all performed strongly and played the best they could, winning the game 3 to 0.

Being the first game of the competition, the unfamiliarity with outdoor courts resulted in inconsistencies with serving and spiking, but this was overcome as each player focused more on the skill rather than the surroundings. We hope to see improvements in the coming weeks.
