Hip Hop Crew’s First Eisteddfods
This year, Pymble’s first ever competitive Hip Hop Crew were set to compete at two eisteddfods – Extreme Eisteddfod and Sydney Eisteddfod, as part of Pymble’s new Performance Stream troupes. However, following our immediate success, we added Platinum Dance Competition to our list, and even won the chance of progressing beyond Sydney Eisteddfod to compete at the Dance of Champions section – which we competed in last weekend.
With our training sessions being shorter than a standard eisteddfod group, and attempting a style Pymble hasn’t competed in before, we were faced with many challenges and stressful times along the way. However, we achieved amazing results beyond our expectations and created a team of true commitment and connection – a factor that clearly showed in our amazing performance last weekend.
Our competition results throughout the year:
- Extreme Eisteddfod (16 June) – 2nd place
- Sydney Eisteddfod (22 June) – 1st place
- Platinum Dance Competition (10 August) – 1st place
- Sydney Eisteddfod – Dance of Champions (8 September) – Competed
