Rugby Sevens
Saturday saw the end to another Rugby 7s season with the grand finals of the Chloe Dalton Competition.
Congratulations to Pymble 4 who narrowly defeated Kinross in a nail biter grand finale to take out the Intermediate Championship. Our girls showed great determination and grit to see out a fiercely contested match. At 14 all, a perfectly executed backline saw Pymble 4 flyer Ellie Pointon (Year 9) score a seven pointer to seal the deal for the girls. A well-deserved win, congratulations girls!
Pymble 7 progressed to the grand finale against Kinross in the Junior division. Unfortunately, the result was the opposite to the Intermediate grand final with Kinross scoring the winning try with one second left on the clock in extra time. A credit to the girls who were very emotional at full time, they held their heads high and were gracious in defeat.
Specific mentions to Pymble 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8. Regardless of results, you have all improved immensely and it was a joy to watch you take the field every Saturday with a smile on your face. A huge shout out to those girls playing Rugby 7s for the first time, it takes courage to play a contact sport, and we hope to see you back next year.
A reminder that next Thursday 26 September we will having a barbecue lunch to celebrate an amazing season. This will be held at the barbecues located next to the tennis courts at the rear entry to the basketball courts. Please arrive from 12.45pm for one last get together before the holiday break.
