Congratulations
Grainger Band performed at the Concourse last Friday evening as part of the Willoughby Spring Festival with New South Symphonic Wind Ensemble. The girls were outstanding in everything they did – performing, being an engaged audience, and being polite with exceptional behaviour. It was a late night, and our girls stood out with their attitude, well done girls! Thank you to Mrs Goodman and Mr Schweinberger for being with the girls late on a Friday night.
To the Music 1, 2, and Extension students – these amazing musicians performed their HSC repertoire over three days and were so well prepared. We are enormously proud of you all and thank Mr Stafford and Ms Zeltzer for their unwavering support and preparation.
“Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.” – Plato
Music Tour 2024
We had a visit from Geoff Hayes of Hayes Travel Enterprises on Friday. He was impressed with the musicality of the girls and their attitude to their preparation. Discussions around where we are going to perform were made, with the hope of having the Ambassador of Spain (Sophia McIntyre) and Ambassador of Portugal (Indra McCormick) in attendance.
We are trying to help the girls understand that they must practise their music on their own so that when we come together, we can work on ensemble building skills, not individual parts. Please encourage your daughter to continue working through the holidays on their tour repertoire. There will be no rehearsal on Friday 27 September, the last day of school.
Rehearsals will resume Week 1 of Term 4. The only excuse for missing a rehearsal will be illness. We are still a long way from performing on a world stage and haven’t even begun the carols repertoire.
