From the Senior School
From the Head of Senior School
Welcome back to Pymble for 2024 and a special welcome to all our new families this year. The year has started with a bang, literally, with the exciting launch of Pymble Pulse, lead by our awesome Year 12 students. Thanks to Charlotte and Holly for leading the assembly yesterday – and to all the Year 12 students who generated such excitement and pride in their school. We are looking forward to a great year of Pymble spirit, recognising those students who give their all to their chosen activities and interests – be they academic, sporting, performing arts, creative arts, technology or service. The staff have been back at school for a while and it is such a fantastic day when the students return – they bring with them a warm buzz of friendship and energy.
Year 12 started back a day early to participate in their annual retreat at Vision Valley. Despite the humidity and heat, the students enthusiastically enjoyed a vast range of activities from car maintenance to high ropes, archery and time in the pool. It was a great day to reconnect, and touch base before the work routines begin in.
Year 11 are settling into the building and becoming familiar with Senior School routines. The students are particularly reminded about the importance of signing in during their Prep lessons during the day. Please encourage your daughter to seek clarification if she has any questions.
I would also like to take this opportunity to respectfully remind parents regarding the process for applying for leave during the school day. If your daughter needs to leave the campus for an appointment or other commitment, could you please email the Senior School Office at seniorschool@pymblelc.nsw.edu.au before 8.00am that day. Please understand that due to our duty of care, we cannot allow students to leave the campus without this notice.
It has been a very humid and warm return to school. Please remind your daughter about the importance of drinking lots of water and getting plenty of sleep. Coming back to school can be quite exhausting, both physically and intellectually, and extra challenges such as the weather, can compound this.
