On Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 November, the Pymble Rowing Team competed in the Loreto Normanhurst and Loreto Kirribilli regattas respectively.

Loreto Normanhurst Regatta – Saturday 25 November

The Learn to Row squad started the day with a win! Madison Landgrebe (Year 7) competed in the single scull in a nail-biting finish that saw her beat her opposition from Sydney Girls by only 0.41 seconds – well done Madi!

The Junior 3rd Quad raced brilliantly to win the Year 9 3rd Division, beating St Catherines by a decent margin of 4.47 seconds. Well done to Emily Englund (Year 8), Ellie Pointon (Year 8), Leander McLaughlin (Year 8), Sanaya Lakhani (Year 8) and Angelina Attinger (Year 8).

Congratulations to Megan Wood (Year 11) from our Senior Squad, winning her race in the Schoolgirl Single Scull in a superb showing of boat-speed.

Loreto Kirribilli Regatta – Sunday 25 November

In the Learn to Row squad, Madison Landgrebe (Year 7) secured her second win of the weekend in the single scull – congratulations again Madi! All of our Pymble Rowers in the Learn to Row squad raced with heart and Pymble determination, achieving some outstanding results.

The Junior 1st and 2nd Quads won their races with the Junior 1st Quad taking home the trophy for the ‘Fastest Year 9 Quad’.

More success was seen from the Junior Squad in the small boats, with Annie Pennington (Year 8) and Zara Kinniburgh (Year 8) winning the Year 9 double scull. Well done!

The Intermediate Squad had a busy weekend, racing in multiple events, showing Pymble determination, grit and stamina. The Intermediate Eight raced in the 2nd Eight division straight after their race in the Year 10 Eight. Congratulations to our Intermediate Eight rowers for your staying power!

The 1st Eight raced well to achieve a second placing, improving on their result from Saturday’s race. Well done to our 1st Eight rowers! A hotly contested race with rowers displaying Pymble courage and determination. Well done to Mia Booth (Year 11) from the Senior Squad winning her single scull race with great execution and technique.

We would like to congratulate everyone in the Rowing team, including parents and coaches.  It was a fantastic weekend of racing where every rower won points to achieve a 3rd place finish in the overall point score out of 16 schools entered in the competition. We look forward to finishing up the Term with more fun racing and improving our technique.
