Schools Cup
On the afternoon of Friday 10 November, we took the pitch against Abbotsleigh in round 1 of the Northern Districts Cricket Schools Cup. This is the first year of this competition and it was exciting to see our Club cricketers represent the school.
Pymble were sent out to bat in the first innings. Willa Pearson (Year 7) and Varada Vinay (Year 8) demonstrated strong attacking cricket. Both students retired not out. Notable mentions also to Ava Christofides (Year 7) facing off against Abbotsleigh’s best bowler, surviving a barrage of tough deliveries. Abani Dhaliwal (Year 8), Charlotte Henderson (Year 8) and Jessica Spence (Year 8) batted extremely well, adding to our overall total of 139 runs.
With the ball in hand, Willa Pearson (Year 7), Varada Vinay (Year 8), Eloise Fisher (Year 8), Abani Dhaliwal (Year 8), Charlotte Henderson (Year 8), Jessica Spence (Year 8) and Miesha Gal (Year 7) took valuable wickets. Tia Pillai (Year 7) and Sophie Webster (Year 8) were electric in the field and Eloise Lawry (Year 6) was awesome behind the stumps as wicket keeper. Well done to our Pymble cricketers!
At the conclusion of the game, Abbotsleigh were bowled out for 61 runs. Pymble will now take the pitch against Barker in round 2!
