{"id":3122,"date":"2025-01-24T00:25:17","date_gmt":"2025-01-24T00:25:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/oxley\/?post_type=article&#038;p=3122"},"modified":"2025-01-24T00:25:17","modified_gmt":"2025-01-24T00:25:17","slug":"ict-onboarding","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/oxley\/article\/ict-onboarding\/","title":{"rendered":"ICT Onboarding"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ICT Induction Sessions will take place for all Year 7 students, as well as new 8-11 students on Welcome Day (Thursday 30 January).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PRE-REQUISITES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before attending the Welcome Day IT Induction session on Thursday 30 January, we ask that families please ensure their child has a device matching the specifications listed at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxley.nsw.edu.au\/learning\/e-learning\/\">Technology @ Oxley \u2013 Oxley College<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minimum Recommended Device Specifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>16 GB RAM<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>256 GB Storage<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Device Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Apple:<\/strong> Latest MacOS installed (MacOS 14 Sonoma) or above<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>PC:<\/strong> Latest Windows Home or Pro installed (Windows 11 version 23H2 or above)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wired Earphones\/AirPods<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ALL components are clearly labelled with your child\u2019s name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Password protection with local Admin rights granted to the child&#8217;s account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find My Mac enabled for Apple Devices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Recommended<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Warranty:<\/strong> AppleCare+ or PC equivalent<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Protective Shell\/Case<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Oxley has negotiated a special education deal for parents purchasing their child\u2019s new device, through one of its partners, EduCom IT. You can visit their Oxley portal here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.educomit.com.au\/oxley\/\">Oxley College Landing Page &#8211; EduComIT<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parents of course still have the option to purchase from any retailer of their choice however we have selected EduCom IT as they provide education pricing and good servicing options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PREPARATION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before attending the IT Induction session, please ensure that the following steps have been completed for your child\u2019s device:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Complete the Basic Setup of a New Device<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are unboxing your device for the first time, please follow the onscreen instructions for the initial configuration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ensure that the device is connected to a power source and a secure and reliable internet connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Apple:<\/strong> You will be asked to create a computer name and password during initial setup.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>PC:<\/strong> You will be asked to create a Microsoft or a local account during initial setup.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Please ensure your child knows their computer name and password for onboarding.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Update the Computer to the latest version of MacOS or Windows 11.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ensure your child has Admin rights to their device.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Please disable Apple Screentime or any other family security programs for Welcome Day to ensure programs can be installed successfully.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ICT Induction Sessions will take place for all Year 7 students, as well as new 8-11 students on Welcome Day (Thursday 30 January).
