{"id":2931,"date":"2024-11-25T04:01:00","date_gmt":"2024-11-25T04:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/oxley\/?post_type=article&#038;p=2931"},"modified":"2025-04-16T02:10:04","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T02:10:04","slug":"snowy-mountain-adventures-year-10","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/oxley\/article\/snowy-mountain-adventures-year-10\/","title":{"rendered":"Snowy Mountain Adventures &#8211; Year 10"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Year 10 OLE Week Snowy Mountain Adventures <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Round Square Outcomes: Adventure and Environmentalism<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are excited to propose a 5-night outdoor adventure program for Year 10 students in OLE Week 1, Term 4. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>This program focuses on building skills, resilience, and teamwork through activities like mountain biking, backcountry skiing and canoeing with opportunities for Service Learning.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Activity Options (TBC):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Alpine Backcountry Expedition: Learn snowshoeing and skiing, followed by a multi-day alpine camping trek.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>or<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mountain Biking &amp; Paddle Expedition: Develop Mountain Biking in the incredible Snowy Mountains and then embark on a guided paddle camping trip.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Service Integration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A service-learning component, such as environmental conservation or community projects, will be included to add depth and meaning to the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dates: <\/strong>OLE Week, Monday 13 October 2025 to Friday 17 October, 2025<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Location: <\/strong>Bungarra Alpine Centre Alpine staying with Adventure Learning Initiatives; <br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bungarra.com.au\/action-learning-initiatives\/\">ALI \u2013 Bungarra Alpine Centre<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cost: <\/strong>Approx. $1,600-$1800**<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This program promises a unique blend of adventure, skill-building, and community impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Finalised details of the program will be possible once students and parents have completed the Expressions of Interest and the College can liaise with the relevant families.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>** NB: Year 10 Students can put the Distinctives Levy towards the cost of this trip.
