This is an Oxley tradition, and this year was the 11th time it has run. Lots of Year 12s still remember doing it, and now it was our turn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We each chose an Australian legend and spent weeks researching their life, achievements and the legacy they left behind. Our projects had to include a biography, timeline, video biography, bibliography, banner, interactive element and explain how they represent the Oxley values. Some of us went further with extras like costumes, artefacts, portraits and poems. It was a lot of work, but definitely worth it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the day, the Clock Tower rooms were buzzing. There were displays about actors, scientists, athletes, conservationists and more. Visitors asked us questions like&nbsp;<em>\u201cWhy did you choose this legend?\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>\u201cWhat legacy did they leave behind?\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;and it felt great to share everything we had learned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We got some awesome feedback too:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>\u201cI loved the choices for your legends. All of the videos and posters were awesome!\u201d<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Grace, Year 3<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cSo cool to see what I did in Year 6 now that I am almost in Year 12!\u201d<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Oxley student<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cStudents were well prepared, enthusiastic, and demonstrated confidence when speaking.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Ms Gaffney<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It wasn\u2019t always easy because there were stressful moments and lots of focus needed, but when it all came together, it was one of the best things we\u2019ve done in Year 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A big thank you to Mrs McGrath, Mrs Rasheed, Mr Smith and all the staff who supported us.
