{"id":4841,"date":"2024-05-20T16:53:05","date_gmt":"2024-05-20T06:53:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/oxley-college\/?post_type=article&#038;p=4841"},"modified":"2024-05-20T16:53:05","modified_gmt":"2024-05-20T06:53:05","slug":"common-ground-workshop-tolerance","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/oxley-college\/article\/common-ground-workshop-tolerance\/","title":{"rendered":"Common Ground Workshop: tolerance"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Oxley students <strong>Chloe S (Year 10)<\/strong>, <strong>Chloe D (Year 10)<\/strong>, <strong>Alex N (Year 10)<\/strong>, <strong>Fred J (Year 10)<\/strong> and <strong>Sophia S (Year 10)<\/strong> participated in a two-day workshop run by The Ethics Centre that was engaging and a fun way to learn about discrimination and how prevalent it is in our society. Oxley sees an opportunity to examine its anti-discrimination stance, focussing on encouragement of diversity in all its forms. The program took a hands-on approach to solving discrimination against things like neurodiversity, gendered toys, ageism, ableism,&nbsp;and diverse sexual identity. The common theme was about respect, advocacy, and open-mindedness.
